Hi All,

I have tried using the search function but appear to be having issues getting what I need.

My wife has her CoPR and we are ready to go and cross the border into Alberta. We currently live in San Diego so we're going to drive a jeep with a uhaul trailer. I found the website that describes how to import a car though want to double check a few things.

Questions:

1) What forms etc do we need to bring in our stuff?
2) My car is a Canadian car that was imported into the USA. I want to import it back into Canada. Do I only have to show up and declare it?
3) Any other advice that you may have for people about to cross the border?

Thanks!!

Congrats on being ready to move!

1) B4 and B4A.
2) No! There's lots of steps you need to follow. It's simple to do each one, though timing matters (e.g., you have to get your title to the US border post usually at least 3 days prior to be able to export the vehicle).
3) Take a camera for right after you land.

I'm including links to some of my posts on these topics that provide more detailed information (including step-by-step instructions on importing a vehicle and how to fill out the B4/B4A).

Let me know if you have additional questions :)

How to import your goods duty free as a settler (or returning Canadian): The B4/B4A story (OhCanadiana's post). You'll need a B4 and likely at least one B4A form and one or more B4A forms.
Detailed instructions on the B4/B4A from CBSA are at BSF5113 and at BSF5087 .
