Hello Folks,
I became PR of Canada in Jul 2007, and lived in Canada from 2003 till Sep 2008. I had to come to US for higher studies. To maintain my PR status in Canada I need to come back by June,2011. However, my US study will not be finished by then. My daughter who is 3yrs old is Canadian, and my wife is PR of Canada like me. My question is if I continue my study in US post June-2011, would we be able to come back to Canada as a PR in a later date? Is there anyway we can extend our PR status in Canada while not in Canada physically? Comments will be much appreciated.

Basic answer is No to all your questions. You either reside for 2 years in every 5 year period to maintain your PR status or you lose it.
