The situation is that, my girlfriend applied for EE (CEC stream), got AOR on April 19th. She's in IP(1) at the moment. Her passport expires in April 2018.
We're planning to go back to her home country, Spain, in September for a month. We were thinking of renewing her passport when she's there, as the process to do it within Canada is very complicated and cost about as much as going back to Spain
So, there are many scenarios that i can foresee happening from now till when we plan to come back at the end of September.
1) She gets PPR between now till end of August (before we leave for Europe). If we were to send her current passport in (a photocopy of it since she's from Spain), can she renew her passport, KEEP the old passport and land with her new passport?
2) She gets PPR while we're in Spain. She gets her new passport, does she send in the new passport, even though in her application, she sent the old passport?
3) She gets her PPR after we return from Spain. At this point, we assume she has her new passport. She just have to send in a case specific enquiry with the scan of the new passport, and we're good to go?
