This is our case:
My wife is planning to come with me to a scientific meeting. She has a valid visitor visa with multiple entries and an open work permit (signed on Dec 2012 and valid until Sep 2013). She applied and obtained her work permit after arriving to Canada as a visitor. We arrived together on Sep 2012.
We are concerned because our work permits says “this doesn’t authorize re-entry”, and also because her passport has a stamp indicating entry to Canada as a visitor, not as a worker, which implies a 6 month stay, now extended with her work permit.
I called CIC and they told me that they cannot guarantee re-entry.
What are the chances that we will experience problems during the re-entry process?
ps we are mexicans.
