Hi everyone! :)
I am a Filipino live-in caregiver who just came last October 2010 and with a temporary status ( not a PR).
I am planning for a vacation in one of the European countries next month.I believe I am able to go since my visa is in a multiple entry category and I asked a letter from my employer stating that I can come back and continue my work with them after my vacation.
However, he advised me not to push through since my status is temporary and I might encounter problems in coming back here to Canada or my re-entry because my work permit states that it is not valid for re-entry.
Anybody who is a live in caregiver and experienced a problem travelling to other countries other than the country of origin with temporary status here in canada?Does the work permit has something to do with the visa? Please help..thanks :)

If your TRV is valid and multiple then you do not need to get one. And as long as you have valid visa for the country you are planning to visit.

Yes my trv is valid and will expire in October this year.My employer just discouraged me not to go since it was stated in my work permit that it is not valid for re-entry. However, I told him that the work permit has nothing to do with the multiple entry category trv. Hope he will be able to sort it out and I can go for vacation.
Thanks honeysweetie

You need a valid multiple entry TRV to leave and come back. WP is a status document which allows you to work. Look in your passport where the shiny visa is. That shiny paper in your passport will tell you the expiry date and whether its a Single or Multiple Entry visa. LIC usually gets a Multiple Entry Visa...

I just wanna ask something regarding my plan to go for a vacation back home (philippines). I'am a care giver here in ontario canada i just arrived last august 2012. Its not just a vacation coz Im planning to get married also, But I have alot of concern regarding this matter.

1st I want to have a vacation for atleast 1month and a half next january2014, Is it ok?
2nd what are the requirements do i need to bring back home so i wont have a problem on going back to canada ( my visa is valid for 2years in a multiple category, and my working permit is also valid for 2years its also stated there that is NOT VALID FOR RE ENTRY.
3rd do i need to pay my monthly tax even if I'm on a vacation?

I hope you can help me with this.
