Re-entering Canada

Hi guys,

I have a question concerning re-entering Canada.

Currently I study in Canada at university (I have only visitor permit because I am an exchange student here just for one semester, I started university in January and my semester ends at the beginning of April).
On the boarder I got Visitor Record for that 4 months which says that This does not authorize re-entry. I read here that it means that they would basically consider my entry again while crossing the boarder.

I am gonna apply for IEC - International Co-op Internship from inside Canada during March and I assume that I will get the result during May. But I would like to go for holidays to Cuba in first half of April and then come back to Canada and wait there for decision concerning IEC. If I dont get it by the end of April I assume I would have implied status here while waiting for my permit.

So my question is whether or not they would let me re-enter Canada in April (technically I will still have valid Visitor Permit) from holidays in Cuba.
My concern is that that might say something like We are afraid that you will start your internship before you get Work Permit or something like that.

What do you think guys?

All proposals are highly appreciated!
Thanks a lot!

The phrase "This does not authorize re-entry" means that the Visitor by itself doesn't authorize you to re-enter: you still need a valid passport.

Edit: I just realize my situation is different from mine (I had a study permit). I suggest you contact CIC for specifics.
