Re-entering Canada

Does anyone know if I need to apply for a re-entry permit to get back into Canada if I go over to the USA for a weekend?

I've been here in Canada for 3 months now on Working Holiday Visa (Australian passport). We are looking to go over to Seattle for a long weekend but my WHV says specifically that it dosen't entitle me to re-entry into Canada. Do I need to apply for a re-entry permit and where can I do this?

As the trip is coming up very shortly, we are kinda of pushed for time, is there a way to speed things up? We have not applied for temporary or permanent resident cards.

Also does anyone knows what the current visa status is of Australians and British citizens entering into the USA is?

Thanks in advance for any help offered, it's greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Im a British Citizen and I was in Canada on a working holiday visa not so long ago. Over the course of the year I drove into the USA and back into
Canada at least 5 times. When re-entering Canada I was just asked what the purpose of my visit was. When I told them im on a working holiday visa they let me straight back, every time, no questions asked.

The status for Oz and Brits in USA. You get a card stamped into your passport when you enter the states, this allows you to stay for 3 months. Once your 3 months is finished you are not supposed to enter the USA for another year, however they dont really follow this, once my 3 months expired they simply stamped my passport again for antoher 3 months. This happened 3 times in the space of 12 months.
