Hi Community,
I have recently got PR and landed in Canada by airline. I came back to US to wrap thing up. Now I want to re-enter Canada by land from US. My current situation is

I have valid COPR valid until end of march but no visa. Can I enter Canada by land using my rental car?

Can any one please suggest?

COPR has no expiry date. It is proof of your PR status. The date you see on the COPR is the date on or before which you have to land in Canada after the CORP is issued.

You can cross the border using your COPR.

Any recent experiences? I called Border Control and they mentioned it will be up to the discretion of the border agent at time of entry.

As long as you have evidence that you are a PR of Canada (even an expired PR Card would prove that for an existing PR, unless CBSA sees that the PR status has been revoked or renounced), you will be allowed to enter Canada. Bring whichever document(s) you have to prove this.

"Up to the discretion" is a standard phrase they use, it means they decide. They cannot, however, arbitrarily decide anything they want.

You can enter on your COPR.
