THIS QUESTION IS FOR MY SISTER.
She is a canadian citizen. But due to personal reasons she was away from Canada for two and half years. Will it be a problem when she enters canada now? The obvious question at the immigration will be when did u leave canada last.. I dont know if it will cause a problem when she mentions that she has been away for more than two years. The last time when she entered Canada was in July 2008 and left Canada sometime first week of september.
She is very worried of the consequences of putting the correct date on the paper. Would appreciate if someone could share similar experience.
There is another point I would appreciate if you could help us with.
Her passport was renewed in another country where she was staying due to her husband's work. Will the immigration officer question her on that?
Should she declare herself non resident? If she decides to declare then can she have a bank account, credit card or a driver's licence?
I hope she has not broken rules by not declaring herself non resident these past two years. She is worried if all these questions will come up when she mentions on the form that she has been away for two years.
