TRV was rejected

Problem: Low savings bank balances compared to higher FDs (problem of liquidity)

NEED TO APPLY IMMEDIATELY ALTHOUGH I KNOW CHANCES OF ACCEPTANCE ARE LOWER..

Which seems like the better resolution if I deposit cash into the savings bank a/c and apply immediately?

1) Mention that I encashed some FDs and deposited the obtained cash into the savings bank WITHOUT any proof of the same
and hope they wouldn't bother about it due to a strong covering letter

OR

2) Mention that I sold GOLD and deposited the obtained cash into the savings bank WITH gold sale receipts as proof

As much as I would like to go with the second option, it sounds too desperate to sell gold for a TRV.

Please help, experts!

CIC usually rejects people with large bank balances if they find out the money doesn't belong to them, or that someone else made a recent large deposit into their account, I think #2 would be the best option, but you need to show the gold belongs to you.

How would they know the source if CASH is deposited? I'm only telling them in my covering letter that I encashed some FDs for liquidity purposes so that I would have readily available funds for my travel/stay in Canada. The only problem would be not having proof of that encashment. Chances are they wouldn't bother if they see sufficient money in the a/c. Do you still feel option 2 is better given that it looks more desperate?

Also, if I sell the gold and have a receipt in MY name, isn't that enough? Not sure what else you mean.

Yes, not having proof of that encashment, and then your bank account suddenly got larger, it will likely lead to a refusal again.

Even if you have proof the gold is yours, and you have a receipt in your name, in my opinion, I think this will hurt your chances, because they might think you are selling off your valuable assets so that you can leave your country and not go back. Yeah it might seem to them that you are desperate to come here, that's why you're selling off a valuable item like gold just to simply visit Canada.

That's just my guess though, but one thing I'm 100% sure about is that if your bank account has large amounts of money deposited in it with no proof of where it came from or that it came from you or your employer (paycheque), it likely leads to a refusal.

Why do you need to suddenly visit Canada so quickly? I think you'd be better off just simply saving up over the course of a few more months and then reapply.

I'm asking on someone else's behalf actually. They don't get work leave later and want to visit right now itself. So you still think gold is the better idea??

Yeah the gold thing wouldn't hurt I guess, how much total $ will he have after he sells it?

CAD $9000 in S/B, and mentioning funds available for 3 weeks as $2500 as lodging is free..

There's another hurdle to cross though: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/trv-refused-had-applied-for-fsw-pr-45-yrs-ago-and-didnt-mention-it-t233801.0.html
