re-application for student visa

hi,
my visa got expired in march 30 2013, now i want to reapply for my student visa as i got my acceptance letter from the college
I have heard that there is a strike goin on rite now...will this effect my application for my visa extension and within how much time will i get my visa?
please help me out here...

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the strike has effected their visa application and caused any delays, etc? I am a journalism student in Canada and I'm doing an assignment on the effect of the strike on International students. Any help would be great! Thanks!
