RCMP Police Clearance

Hello again!

I have a quick question. For eight months, I lived with my husband in Canada. I know this will probably end up with them asking me for a background clearance from the RCMP. I've found out how to get a clearance from there (I checked their website), and I wonder if I should do that first and send it with my application in June, or should I wait until they ask me for it. I've found out the procedures, and it's not unlike getting a clearance from the FBI. Should I just do it now and get it out of the way in time to send off my application, or should I just wait? Thanks.

Wait, CIC will do a name check, and if there is no one without a similar name/age they will not request fingerprint checks. If they do, then have them done by the Corp of Commissionaires digitally, results in less than 30 days (compared to 3/4 months for paper prints)

All right then! I didn't know about the name check. My name is pretty unique, and since I've never been in trouble with the law (and I never will be!), it should be fine. And if my name does come up because someone else has it...I'd like to meet that other person!
