RCMP and fingerprints

Hi guys,
I want to ask you guys about the RCMP and the fingerprints procedure. Is it compulsory for everyone to do the fingerprints ? can you only do it once CIC request you to do it ? do we have to submit it along with the application ? can we send it even cic haven't requested for the fingerprints ?

how can we get our fingerprint test and how we gonna send it.

I have seen confusion among so many people about this topic.

can anyone help with their experience.

Read your application guide from your provincial government.
Mine says:"you do not need it done, CIC will request it on your behalf."

ask RCMP
RCMP offers normal paper non criminal thing but it takes long. the Fingerprint is totally different thing that you have to ask who and where in ur city offer the e finger print thing.
You just go to finger print company say you wanna do it for immigration they 'll do it for you right away. you need to bring in ur passport.
it takes few minutes and cost 50ish bucks? varies among companies.
they took a photo&got your finger print and sent it (online) to RCMP in ottawa. once ottawa receive it (which means right away)they will mail you a paper copy with your photo, finger print, and a stamp on it. it takes about a week.
Attch it with your application to cic.

You just need to offer finger print thing(original copy), no need for non criminal from RCMP coz finger print check is faster, more accrue, and deeper than regular non criminal proof from police office.

Suggest you do it before CIC request since it might delay your processing time if they request for it later.

but what if i have already applied for PR application. how should i send it ? should i send it to Cpp ottawa or my visa office i.e sydney ?
can i send it even CIC haven't requested for it ?

last question- do i need to send just the finger print test or a criminal report as well

I am not sure what you suppose to do after submitting
i have a lot of friends don't do that coz they don't request from everyone. I will just leave it till they request. coz updating information may delay ur process as well right?
Do you have a very popular name? My agency friend told me that the more popular your name is the most possibility u would ask for that coz CIC has to distinguish you from others, and finger print is the best way.

Yes e-finger print is enough no need for on criminal report if you are clear.
I did both (waste of my money for RCMP), but only submitted finger print coz RCMP need three weeks+ to get the paper letter back and the website shows that from June this year they ONLY accept finger print as well.
