For medical is it best to just send it in with the whole application? I read that it is valid for 9 or 12 months? And the application process states 9 months anyways. I heard to save like 2 or 3 months just get one done already.

Do I need finger printing from my own country also?

The wife is from Poland and is a Canadian Citizen would she still require birth certificate to show anything or just her Citizenship documents would be good enough?

Proof of the relationship: Such as plane tickets, emails, skype conversations, chat logs, phone bills, birthday cards, gifts, photos. etc.

Do we need to provide copies of phone bills or give them originals (such as receipts, credit card statements, phone bills, plane tickets, or boarding passes from emails)? We went on so many dinners that I either pay with the Visa card or just pay CASH, or she would pay CASH, and we don't even keep the "receipts" it's not like we knew at the time we would get married!

I had to reformat my computer back in August so my phone call log from skype is gone! Thank god I pay skype a yearly fee and I was searching last night on their website and found logs from July only but I use to call her back in Feb already, and we spent hours and her phone records don't go that far back either. No idea if they can still give out phone records from almost a year ago for a fee! If they can that would be great!

Emails we never save them only recently the last 3 months cause we started looking into getting married and had no idea. We went on 3 trips, one in Punta Cana this summer for 7 days, both flying from our own countries. Her from Toronto me from Paris (I am from Luxembourg). I always upload the pictures on facebook due to free storage! I uploaded 250 pictures of our 7 day trip. Most pictures are me standing by a tree then she stands by it and it shows the same back ground, cause it's not that easy to do self pictures and finding other people around and bugging everyone to take pictures of us. We do have a lot of pictures with each other showing we are on a Tropical Island! :) And I just noticed that the time dates are stamped on facebook as proof of knowing that the time frame is not fake or fraudulent! Also we both have the VISA's stamps in our passports as proof I can use I hope? Cause she doesn't have her ticket no more and I don't either. I did take pictures of my trip such as tickets, and money and bathroom pictures for facebook reasons to look "COOL" lol. I am young 31 so yeah! (oh can't forget the romantic candle light dinner date on the beach)! :)

2nd trip was when I had paid for her ticket off of paypal I sent her the money so paypal still keeps all records no matter what the age is! She did fly out to Europe for 1 month to spend time with me. I picked her up in France, by train and got 3 tickets, 1 to go get her, and 2 tickets to go back to Luxembourg. Now I don't know if I still got those tickets or not? Because I paid for this on my credit card, and we took about 50 pictures in Paris alone! Showing the train station door ways and all. So you know it's Paris! And we took about 655 pictures from what I can see from that month (thank you facebook for uploading free storage)! We went to Belgium, since Luxembourg is between 3 countries, we also went to Germany and took pictures, we went to go see her family in Poland for a weeks time and took a bus for 24 hours there and back. Was cheaper to do it that way and see parts of Germany and Poland while traveling. Took countless pictures of different buildings in Frankfurt cause it just looks cool some pictures there are the 2 of us but hard to see the buildings since we took the pictures ourselves. Also when she left back to Canada, I went with her all the way to Amsterdam to make sure she's okay and safe. And took pictures at the airport and in the city late at night. Very cool city to visit by the way and very SAFE!!!! I also did pay for her ticket and transferred the funds into paypal, so it goes on her Mastercard.

3rd trip was me going to see her in Ontario this Christmas cause her mom invited me to come over so I am not too lonely. I spent 16 days out there, and 3 days in Toronto! First 2 days to look at the city and the last night before leaving so I don't miss my flight. We did take pictures (over 200 pictures for 2 weeks stay) of the city cause it's like my first time seeing Toronto on foot and having time to go out to eat and take tons of pictures. I was at her parents house, who are very old fashion so you know what this means! DIFFERENT ROOMS! lol. They don't really speak english that well, so I don't know about getting a letter from the parents about our relationship since they were at the wedding and where the 2 guest to sign as witnesses! The dad took pictures of the whole thing. We went out to eat, took no pictures I still got the receipt for it.

Some logs from Feb I can only get are messages on facebook only. Emails we didn't save, cause we just didn't. I am hoping that her phone company and mine can get us records from Feb till July to show proof that we did talk and so on. I did take screen shots on skype a few times cause I think we looked very cute! But you can not prove when those were really taken of that matter. I also knew her from a new years party when I use to live in Ontario over 5 years ago. Met a few times from another friend who is Polish! Then we started talking again this year back in Feb. So I don't know what other kind of proof to show.

Most of our communications is done on skype call, or chatting on skype, emails at times, texting, web cam video using skype. Now for proof of video on skype we just take a screen shot of the talking time of the call? And for the chats do we just copy and paste chats? I did a copy and paste? Just on skype alone from the copy and paste from Aug 20th we have about 3,455 pages and over 839,935 words lol I copied and pasted it last night(the bible). We normally talk daily about 2 to 16 hours per day. We type a lot! But since Feb I would say we did about a lot more then those amount of pages. Now in some conversations we talk about everything and anything really. We do fight at times over little things, I would guess not to print that part out for IO's to read? We talk about ex's we dated and other private things here and there, family and so on. At the start we talked about mostly what happened since we last seen each other over 5 yrs. Our phone conversations are normally like 3 hours to 8 hours. At times the internet drops the calls on skype! So it kind of sucks! Thank god for unlimited North American plan for just $4 a month! :)

So I don't really know what kind of proof we should use. We also talked on msn a lot but both got rid of it since we mainly use skype! I can't find anything on msn anymore! :( It's all gone! Would there be anything else I would need to show it's real and not a fake marriage by any chances?

Any other suggestions and tips that I would need to show it's real and genuine?I ran out of ideas really and things we have. We also buy each other gifts, I don't keep receipts, I do keep the tshirts and tons of the stuff she buys me! Most of my stuff are at her house already! Trying to save money by not having 2 bags when I go flying around the world again and pay a lot for either shipping or extra bags with airline companies!

I also had an exclusion order in 2007 for 1 year. When I came this Dec in Toronto I explained to the IO why when asked. He was beyond cool with me! I was there no more then 10 minutes before they gave me a 6 month stamp on the visa even tho I was only there for 16 days! I even told him I am seeing my gf, cause her mom invited me over for Christmas. I offered the address, phone number, hotel stay, plane ticket, how much money I was bringing in and so on. Since her parents are very traditional! Even offered immigration's phone number in case I had questions about a visa to come live in Canada. At the time I didn't want to be in Canada cause I don't see anything there for me but the wifey! Job market I think is just paycheck to paycheck compared to what I get here! :) I don't really care if they call me for an interview just the horror stories I read about people not being approved and the time wait for years down the road it's like very sad as you only live once.

Hey,

For medicals: yes, send it with the application, it's not an option NOT to send it - it's on the checklist, and it's required, so just send it. If you don't send it, CIC might return your application because something is missing. So wait until your application is almost ready, do the medicals, and send everything. Your Vo is Paris, you'll most likely be done before the 12 months expiry, if you do the medicals close to the date of sending your application.

- you need a Police Check for each country you have lived in for more than 6 months since you were 18. If you need finger prints for your own country to get a Police Check, then yes, you do.

- for your wife: follow the sponsor guideline and checklist, it gives a precise list of what is required for the sponsor. Her citizenship documents are good.

Proofs of relationship: copy of phone bills, and anything that proves that you have been in a relationship. If you don't keep receipt for restaurants, find something else. Plane tickets, gift in common, boarding passes, plane ticket for your visit and hers, stamp on your passport showing that she went to visit you, or the contrary.
For Skype - include what you have, and include an explanation of why you don't have anything before that date, if Skype can not give it to you.
Pictures from Facebook and print screen of common messages etc can also work - basically, you need to gather proofs, then look at it and try to ask yourself the question - would that convince a stranger that these two people are in a relationship? if yes, great, if not, what is missing? if you have any red flag (big age difference, very different background etc) then address it right away and explain how it won't be a problem for you.
Get letters from friends and families.

Try to see on your "sent folder" in the emails, you might have them still there, even if you don't actively save them, most email providers will do that.

you can take screenshots of Skype, and copy and paste chats ( try and be selective because no point in sending 500 pages of chat, best to focus on quality than quantity).

You can get a life insurance and name her the main beneficiary, and she can do the same. It doesn't show the date when it was done, most of the time it just shows the other person's name, and you can cancel it later if you don't need it. Now that you're married, she could add you on her bank account - canadian - and get that as a proofs. If she is renting an apartment she can also try and add your name on the lease. If you get mail coming to her address, or have in the past, include that as well.

If you prepare your application well, there are few chances that you will be called for an interview or refused - you come from an European country so you're not suspected of fake marriage, as opportunities in your own country are as goo as in Canada most likely.

So just follow the check list, prepare all the proofs, and it all should go well.
Good luck,
Sweden

Okay thank you for the medical!

- About the police check! I was also in the US from age 7 to age 23. So I would require one by the FBI? :( I know how long these things can take then! :( This is going to suck! They are so slow from what I read!

- Alright thank you for the checklist part.

Visa stamp for Europe won't happen since she came here on a Polish passport as she is also a EU citizen. But we got tons of pictures as I stated!

Age difference no she is 6 weeks older then me and back ground is kind of the same both have polish parents but my dad was Italian it's all. I speak the language also. So no biggie there.

I already checked the sent mail! :(

Well too add me to her bank account I would require to be there in Canada but I am not. I am back in my home country because I understand the paper work is done much faster for that one. And less problems also. For now still at home with her parents, like I said old fashion. Yeah no mail going there as of yet.

Thank you Sweden!

Sure, you can do that. Then, submit the police certificate upon CIC request or until you have the file number. Many people do it that way.

I honestly don't even feel like going to Canada but the things we do for love!

Alright do you know if that takes a long time? Thank god we can do this. I am not even doing this I hired someone to do it and before I speak too them it's going to be a few days I just want to get a jump on things. I just sit home online, reading the news, and doing my sales online I get bored in between sales! As you can see!

you can do it, but it's always a risk - CIC might think that your application is not complete. FBI clearance are not difficult to get, and CIC knows it. IT takes time, but that's the only part... other people have not included some Police Checks when they were difficult to get, took a long time etc (that was my case, had to wait more than 6 months for one police check, so I didn't include it first, and explained the situation, the steps I took in order to get it, and eventually sent it).

Good luck,
Sweden

Yeah I just wanted to do it to cut some time off, but I'll wait I guess. No worries just 6 weeks total. Thank you so much! You are like the biggest help on here!

I don't know. In my case, I waited for the FBI clearance for more than a month and sent it with my application. Later, when I found this forum, I read many people mailed their application without the police certificate. I regreted that I should have done that to save me a month and get in the queue earlier. It is hard to say when we are talking about CIC. Luck plays an important role. That's what I can see from reading the posts here.
