Quick question if stage2 gets refused

My partner and children have there visitor visas already no problem,
I've already been approved to sponsor.
Just in case stage 2 doesn't get approved ( Outland )

Can she come here as a visitor and extend stay to qualify as common law?
And can the children get study visas as they can't attend school as a visitor?
