Birth certificate will be issued in both China and Canada when you wife is giving birth. It has nothing to do with your passport. If you want a relationship certification, you need to get your passport authenticated by public notary, Canadian Foreign Affairs minister and Chinese embassy or consulate and then translation of Chinese, and your marriage certificate and your child's birth certificate.

1. You should note that a child born overseas is NOT issued at Canadian birth certificate.
2. The Canadian spouse can apply for proof of Canadian citizenship when the child is born /

Also, one more question, if my baby is born out of the country and I am returning back to Canada. Can I help the baby apply for proof of citizenship in Canada? or I have to go back to the baby's birth country and go apply at the local embassy?
