My spouse and I are submitting our application this coming week. I am a Canadian citizen (by birth) and she is from the Philippines. We are a same-sex couple. She lives here with me and we have cohabited since July 2020 (one year, two months). We have been together for two years roughly
For proof of cohabitation, we have the following evidence:
1. Rental agreement with both of our names on it, dated July 1st, 2020
2. Second Rental agreement, same apartment, April 1, 2021 (utilities no longer included being the reason why another lease was signed)
3. Joint utilities as of April 2021
4. Joint RBC bank account starting July 2020 and continu
5. My tangerine account, her Scotia account, July 2020 and onwards
6. My car insurance documents October 2020 and renewal August 2021
7. Amazon, Young Living, TSC, WalMart.ca, pet-smart delivery purchases throughout the duration of our cohabitation
8. Costco membership with both of our names and showing our address
9. Rent e transfer receipts for the duration of our cohabitation
Proof of Genuine relationship
1. The 20 photos. Most are just us cause covid really messed up our ability to visit people. But there are a few family gatherings like Christmas and two birthdays, a grad party, and a few with different friends.
2. Life insurance policies - hers (listing me as a beneficiary) and mine (listing her as a beneficiary)
3. Her employment benefits with me on it
4. Two notarized letters (one from my mom, one from my aunt) and two non-notarized letters (from our best friends)
5. Costco membership (again)
6. Our two joint bank accounts
7. Receipt for her engagement ring (I proposed September 2020)
8. Receipt for her wedding dress
9. Copy of Save the Dates we will be sending out
10. Social media posts showing a public relationship status
11. Screenshots from our private group for our wedding (our wedding is next year)
12. Some receipts for gifts we’ve bought each other
do you think we have enough? Should we add anything else?
I am SO worried about this application. I love her so much and I don’t want her to go back to the Philippines.
