Questions regarding apprenticeship

Hi all, I've read through a few posts, namely Express Entry in a nutshell and several about apprenticeships. I'm just looking for some further info.
I'm Scottish and just finished my engineering apprenticeship in August and have since been working offshore as an engineer. I studied one day a week at the local Technical College

I hit the post button too soon, what an idiot!

As I was saying, studied one day a week at Technical College and rest of the week was working with a fully qualified engineer on the factory. At college I gained a Natonal Certificate (NC ) over 2 years and a Higher National Certificate (HNC) over a further 2 years, both in Engineered Systems. Now I'm aware that my apprenticeship does not count as work experience but I was wondering what category of education does it come under? I am assuming the "3 or more years post-secondary" one?

Also, will I have to wait until I have worked off shore full time for a whole year before I can apply or can I apply early with the intent of finishing that full year of work experience before I move?

The rest I have covered, I will have the maintenance funds saved up, English and hopefully French tests wrapped up and obviously begin looking for jobs.

Any additional info appreciated guys
