Once my wife has landed and obtained her PR card, which will be in her maiden name:

1.) Can she receive a Canadian passport?

2.) If so, while still holding an American passport, or must she relinquish it?

2.) Must her Canadian passport (if she's able to receive one) reflect the name on her PR card, ie. her maiden name, or can she have it in her married name if we're able to show proof (marriage cert., driver's lic., etc., with her married name on it)?

3.) Has anyone received the PR card in their maiden name and then requested it be changed to their married name?

4.) If so, is it a lengthy and/or difficult process?

Any other thoughts on this matter would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Never mind, I just googled it, which I should have done in the first place. It's all moot, a PR cannot hold a Canadian passport. :(

nope - that's why it's called Permanent Resident of Canada and not Canadian! :) Canadian passport is only for Canadian citizens...

it's a different step - but the next one if you want...
So - there are various rules for each country, but US and Canada both allow dual citizenship, so as soon as your wife qualifies for citizenship (she can apply after 3 years of physical presence in Canada, see CIC website for the details...), she will be able to get both citizenships (not every country allows it, but the US does).

No idea how to change the PR name, but that should not be too difficult if you have a marriage certificate etc...
Good luck!

To change the name on the PR Card you need your marriage certificate, a copy of your CoPR, a drivers license or health card showing her married name and a completed application (link below) and the $50.00 fee. If your wife plans to apply for Citizenship and wants her married name on her Citizenship certificate she will have to do this before she applies for Citizenship.
