Hi,
My current status in Canada is Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) since October 29, 2021.
I started working full-time with employer X on October 4, 2021 (TEER 1). I was on a vacation for 4 weeks outside of Canada during this job. I left that job on June 30, 2022. I started working with employer Y on July 25, 2022 (TEER 1). Both of my jobs do not require LMIA. Both of these have different NOCs but the same TEER category.
I intend to apply for Express Entry as a Canadian Experience Class (CEC). I have the following questions about my case for the work experience section under my Express Entry profile,
1. I applied for my PGWP and started working full-time before I received my PGWP. Does my full-time work experience during this time period (while waiting for PGWP) count towards one year of work experience in Canada?
2. When I calculate one year of experience starting October 4, 2022, deducting vacation and the time when I switched jobs, it is one year now. What is your opinion? Should I submit my profile to the pool now?
3. What should I answer to "Was a positive LMIA issued for the job offer in Canada?"
4. What should I answer to "Do I have a valid work permit for the current job in Canada?" I do not have employer-specific work permit. I have PGWP.
5. What should I answer to "Is my job offer from the employer named on the current work permit?" I do not have employer-specific work permit. I have PGWP.
6. What should I answer to "Have I been working full-time for the employer on my current work permit for at least one year?"
My total work experience in Canada has been one year but it has only been 4 months with my current employer Y. Help section for this question says - "For example, the equivalent of one full-time year of work experience in part time could be : having worked a total of 30 combined hours per week in more than one job for one year."
7. What should I answer to "NOC code of current work permit."
I selected "99999 - Open Work Permit" since I have PGWP. Is this correct or do I need to change this NOC to my current job NOC? Also, to answer this question, they have 4-digit NOCs from 2016 and 5-digit NOCs from 2021 in the options list which makes it even more confusing.
8. What should I answer to "Was a positive LMIA issued for the current work permit?" Both of my jobs do not require LMIA.
Thank you so much for clearing up my confusion and answering these questions!
