I am in Canada as a worker and have just received my letter of work permit extension. I now want to apply for TRV (my current visa has expired on the same date as my previous work permit). I have the following questions:
1. I just want to reconfirm the following:
- whether I am submitting my application online or on paper - whether from inside or outside Canada, the
application form is the same i.e. IMM5257e? or are there different forms for each scenario?
2. In the form IMM5257e, under "Funds available for my stay" what should I fill? - its a mandatory field. I believe this is for newcomers whereas I have been here for 2 years already. If I have to fill this field then what is the minimum amount that is required?
3. If I submit an online application, how does my passport get stamped with the new TRV?
4. In the online application, though I say my country of residence is Canada, in the list of documents to submit, the first one is form IMM5257 (which I think is the right form) but in the description it says - APPLICATION FOR TRV FROM OUTSIDE CANADA. This has confused me. Is this a bug in the system or its normal?
