Hi All - Can someone please help me with the answers to the following questions from my citizenship application?

1. I am using the online physical presence calculator and I cannot see an option to sign and date the printed form from there. The guideline document in this forum reminds us to sign and date the form. How should we do this?
2. I have printed out all biographical pages of the passport in colour and the rest un black-and-white. Would that work?
3. Question 5 in the application form asks if we have 'ever used any other name'. The guideline document states that we'd need to 'list all names that you have used...'. Should we still include the actual name on the application?

Thanks in advance

1. It is an old requirement to sign. Now you don't need to sign the physical presence calculation.

The instructions guide still asks to sign. I will sign just at the bottom of the page.

The cit0007e-2 form does says so to to sign.

But the FORM says to Sign the Online Physical Days Calculations sheet. I will follow the FORM to the tee over the instructions.

There is NO NEED to sign the physical presence calculator. This requirement was done away with sometime after October 2020.

Here is a direct tweet from IRCC confirming this =>

But if you still want to sign it, go ahead.

The latest official form (Dated Oct. 2020) says to sign it and date it but the instructions guide says not to. What can we say its IRCC...

Step 2 – Calculate how long you’ve been in Canada
To calculate how long you’ve been in Canada (your physical presence)

If you can’t use the online calculator, use our form: How to Calculate Physical Presence [CIT 0407] (PDF, 1.84 MB).
Double-check your calculations. Errors can delay the processing of your application.
You don’t have to sign or date your physical presence calculation (your printout of the Online Physical Presence Calculator or form CIT 0407).

Step 3 – Gather your documents

Submit the following documents with your application:
  • the original printout of your Online Physical Presence Calculation or form CIT 0407 (PDF, 1.8 MB)
  • colour photocopy of all pages (valid or expired) of your passport(s) or travel document(s) during your (5) year eligibility period, including the biographical page which includes: name, photo, date and place of birth, passport/travel document number, issue date and expiration date.
    • If you do not have these documents or there is missing time between the validity dates of the travel documents, provide an explanation in question 14 on the application form.

Question 5.

We need to know all of the names you have ever used in order to verify your identity. If you used any other names other than the one being requested in your grant of citizenship application, print them in the chart.

Note: this question is optional, only complete it if it applies to you.
