Hi, for those student who have gotten their study permit, did you have to submit a police clearance certificate and do a separate medical exam?

Also, as the financial support part, how much CAD did you show that you have. I see on cic website the minimum amount is 15k plus first year tuition.

Did not get my study permit, but I can answer your questions.

Police certificate and/or medical tests are only required in certain countries. You should check the document checklist for your country to fins out if it is required.

Medical exams are only conducted by authorised list of panel physicians. You can get this at CIC website.

Only 10,000 CAD is required + tuition if you are applying yourself. Additional amount has to be paid for each additional family member in your application. See the link here

Yes thanks for the information, i found it out from the official website. As for the financial part, the amount (10k cad plus tuition) on the webiste is a minimum amount, but of course more is better as that will not let them deny your application for insufficient funds. Which is what im trying to find out, about how much extra is recommended?

You entire visa is just not dependent on your Financial Status but also many other factors. I got my visa in 6 days, provided I had just shown the VO my GIC and tuition fess receipt for the entire year. The sole purpose of SDS gets defeated if you have to show more income documentation. So if you have extra finance to disclose, you definitely can add that to your visa process, otherwise only GIC and Tuition Fees Receipt is enough.
