My husband is a Permanent Resident of Canada, I applied for a visitors visa to Canada on the 14th of March mentioning I'm single and without any affiliation to my husband or mentioning my engagement to him on the application. I also stated that I want to go visit Niagara Falls as I had been recently granted with a USA visa. We got married on the 19th of March.

I want to go visit my Husband what should I tell the border officer ? My husband wants to do an inland application for My permenant Residency as there is no application for the same in process.
Should I mention that I'm going to visit my husband ? Will that create any problems since when I applied I was single ? Or should I pose as a tourist and not mention my marriage or my husband in Canada ?

Please advise....

What country are you from? I highly recommend you do not apply inland as the processing time is too long and you won't be able to appeal or leave the country.

Also you have to remember if you're trying to lie at the border by saying you're not seeing your husband or getting married, and they find out, you could face a temporary ban from Canada for misrepresentation. A lot of people get caught lying since its easy to tell for some border officers, that a person is giving vague answers, not making eye contact, giving contradictory answers, etc. People do eventually crack under further questioning.

soon
you can apply but as soon they send acknowledgement NDVO canadian embassy may ask your original passport.in that case you may need to move bak to india

At the border answer for only those questions asked nothing more and nothing less. Do you have any sponsor here? If so they and your hus in same city?.

I suggest if you are visiting talk only about the application you made as you may be denied entry as potential immigrant if you say your married

Hi samina52,

Never lie to immigration officers. U forget ur lies but system wont.

Me and wife had same scenario, diffrence was we travelled together. However she alone faced immigration officer.

Answer only the question they ask, nothing more nothing less.

Frankly say u have dual intention, recently married so want to accompany spouse and together u and hubby will explore potential option for pr.

Have return ticket for india as high chance they ask for it and grant u entry for some duration.

Imp point dont lie. Canadians are nice ppl.
