Hi All,

I am planning to apply for Canadian Immigration under CEC. I am currently on the 3yr Post graduate work permit. My questions are below:

1. As per the instruction docs ... Coop and Off campus work experience does not count under the CEC category ... so if I have gained experience under the coop and off campus work permits within the last 3 yrs then do I need to mention that in my application and/or in any case do I need to provide reference letters from those companies I worked for ??

2. Also the instructions say that you need to show only work experience gained in Canada ... Do I need to submit reference letters from companies I worked for before coming to Canada ??

3. Instructions also mentions that you need to submit PCC for countries other than Canada ... so do I still need to submit PCC from RCMP ??

The application asks you to document work experience for the past 3 years. On the form, it specifies in Canada. On the document checklist, it does not. It is not clear at all.

So, yes, I would say you should document all in Canada work experience in the past 3 years, whether or not it "counts".

And, yes, I documented all work experience for the past 3 year, even if outside of Canada. This was the advice of an IO.

No. Not unless/until it is requested by Buffalo.

I will be sending all the reference letters from my employers in the last 3 years. But I have been in Canada since 2005 and due to this my last 3 yrs has been in Canada only. So I do I still need reference letters from employers outside Canada if it is not within the last 3 yrs ??

Also when the ask me to send the recent Notice of Assessments (for Tax) ... Do I need to only send the notice of 2009 year itself which is the recent one or from previous years as well ??

No.

Instructions state to submit the most recent.

One of my coop employer's told me that they do not provide reference letters or employment letters to their employees and told me to submit the appointment letter with the T4's and the salary slips ....

I know that the document checklist says that ... if you cannot get a reference letter you can write a explanation letter why you were not able to get the reference letter ... what else would I need to prove my point here ??

Can I ask the employer to send me the email explaining that they do not give out reference letters and attach it with my explanation letter ??? will this work ???

Yes, submit the appointment letter & T4 (don't need salary slips), along with the email and a cover letter of your own explaining why you can't provide the reference letter. That should be enough, since it doesn't "count" anyway -

Some of references are not provided with a business card. In this case I got the reference letters from them with there phone numbers written on the letter itself.

Is it a must to have a business card with every reference letter or the contact no on the letter will do as well??

If it is the experience you are using to qualify, I would try to get the business card.

as she is a payroll admin and the company does not provide her a business card ...

No she is not my direct supervisor ... but she is part of the HR dept. and does payroll for the company I work for ...

I work for a placement agency which has provides staffing services. I am placed at a bank for Tech support. the Bank does not pay me ... but I get paid by this placement agency ... I also got my T4 and payslips from them

Your letter of employment should be from your direct supervisor at your agency, and should include a business card.
