Hi guys my card is expiring in less than 4 months, I'm preparing the renewal and have some questions:

1) My address has changed, do I need to inform them separately?

2) The Document Checklist and other forms, do they want typed or hand written?

3) There's a stamp on my passport need to be translated, where can I find a person to do it? Is there a format for the translation letter?

4) Generally speaking, is this whole PR card renewal thing hard to get approval? And how long it usually takes?

5) If my card expires on January, 2014, can I leave the country for a few weeks and come back on December, 2013?

Thank you :-*

Pre-Assessed..
1. No.

2. Either typed or written in block letters. Not cursive. I think it even specifies somewhere that you can only use a blue or black pen.

3. Google "certified translator (language) (your town)" and see what comes up. As far as I know, there is no format. I would suggest making a copy of the passport stamp and have the translator add their translation to that page or staple it to that page.

4. Immigration must be satisfied that you spent at least 730 days in the past 5 years. Right now it takes 96 days for a renewal, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp

5. Yes, you can.
