Questions about job titles and previous employments.

Hi guys,

I am applying under NOC 1113 (Securities Agent, or Securities Representative, etc). My work gave me a title of Brokerage Representative, but as the HR is outsourced, on my payslips it says Customer Service since we deal with clients. Both of these names do not match the full list of titles under NOC 1113.

1. Just wondering does this matter and does my title needs to match the NOC list of titles 100%?

2. My previous employers (which are irrelevant to NOC 1113), despite repeated request they are either reluctant or unable to issue employment reference letter with detailed job descriptions. One of the previous work from 10 years ago has even now changed owner. What can I do in this situation?

Any input or experience will be highly appreciated!!!

If the company changed its name or ceased to exist, provide explanations in the cover letter

I have already given IELTS ,have ECA , & all the required document + filled forms available with me , but now facing a issue before sending my final application and need your help ???

I went to an immigration consultant today & told me that I may not eligible as per my occupation Title. I then showed them my unit group 1113 that it is mentioned clearly mutual fund sales representative and told them that, I am working in my country's biggest mutual funds Co with a track record of 50 years but they told me that my title is not matching with the group defined title - My title is Junior marketing officer but in industry it is considered as (mutual fund sales representative) there is a body that issues certificate of mutual fund sales agent as per the law it is necessary for all the person selling mutual funds to any client to complete the certification but still v less people do it so i haven't done it even + in other mutual fund co's in my country everyone is working with a different title like investment officer, sales officer , relationship manager etc

... the immigration lawyer said it is not allowed to apply with a different title even if your job roles are exactly the same as mentioned in the job description.. but Do u guys think it is fair ! I don't think so ??? What's your idea and they also said that u need to get re-issued the experience letter from your Co. .... but I told them I can get letter re-issued with in bracket written as Jr marketing officer (mutual fund sales agent) but they said no. It will be hard to get a letter with only the title of mutual fund sales agent (alone) and on my contract copy and all the pay stubs are all mentioned with Jr marketing officer.

It is also written in my contract that Co will make u appear in mutual fund sales agent certificate exam issued by institute of capitals market on completion of 1 year -in the last few clauses of the contract .

What do u guys suggest should i do ??? I am now planning to apply on my own but should i go with the same title or is there anyway else I can get the issue resolved ? make a experience in some other field as i have previous experience in supply chain - procurement officer as well and the company will be kind to provide me with an experience letter but I guess it is better to go with a legal thing

Sorry to say that but your immigration consultant said bullshit.

Either change your consultant/lawyer, or apply on your own. It's really not a big deal to print out all your forms, sign'em, put in the envelope and send to the CIO. Exact job titles do not matter, only your responsibilities and duties in the reference letters are vital.
