hello guys....i'm confused about the questionaire form IMM5490E....its so confusing...like they want to know about when did me and my wife meet for the first time and what gifts we exchanged while we never met before our wedding..it was an arranged marriage and we didn't live together after wedding either since she had to return to canada to resume her job....and i have been told that if we mention in the form that we never met or lived together then it will make our case ambiguous....what should i do..really confused

NO that is untrue, CIC fully understands that many weddings in Pakistan and Asian cultures do arranged marriage, there is even a question 17 that asks whether you marriage is arranged or not, they understand that most of arranged marriage they never met , so you don't need to worry about that, but you have to include a strong proof that your marriage is genuine and not for the sake of immigration, such as wedding hall invoices, photos, honeymoon trip, celebration of the Nikah, celebration of the wedding, previous contact proof such as skype calls, emails, phone bills, text message, love letters or whatever you can.

Don't lie on the forms. Arranged marriages are acceptable to CIC when an arranged marriage is normal in the culture, as it is for Pakistan.
When they ask when you met for the first time, just explain it was on your wedding day. You will have to fully explain your traditions for an arranged marriage and that you followed all of them. Did you exchange gifts on your wedding day? If so, CIC wants to know.

Did you stay together even for one night, or for a honeymoon? If yes, make sure to mention this on the forms.
