Hello! Question -

If I am planning to apply for student visa and would like to take my wife with me (as worker), but realized she is pregnant, are we more likely to get rejected?

What degree are you applying for and at what school? When are you hoping to start studying. At this point the earliest would be fall 2023. How pregnant would your spouse be at this point? Medical coverage for students and their families varies by province. Some qualify for provincial insurance while others pay for special private insurance for international students. You’d need to look at the fine print when it comes to coverage for individuals who are already pregnant. Believe there are situations where you don’t qualify for private health coverage for international students if already pregnant. There are wait times to up to 3 months to qualify for provincial health coverage so that may also be quite problematic. OWP for spouses of international students is not guaranteed. There does seem to be better approval rates for those pursuing advanced degrees like masters and PhDs especially from reputable universities. If you have been married for a long time versus marriage right before applying leads to a higher rate of approval. Pregnancy will likely have an impact on chances of approval but how much of an impact is hard to say. OWP approval will also be influenced by the province you wish to study in, the degree you have chosen and the school you will be attending.
