Hello

I have a friend here in Jamaica who is interested in obtaining work in Canada. He is a skilled carpenter but would work anywhere...work is work and work is money.

I am looking for some information how he can first off find a job, and how the process works.

Basically to sum it up...we know very little about the process and are wondering what the best way to go about it is..and where to start.

Thanks for the information.

Look for jobs online. Try to find a company that is willing to apply for his LMO to get him a work permit or apply for an AEO and sponsor him for permanent residency through a provincial nominee program or apply for an AEO to allow him to apply for his immigration under the skilled worker program if he has enough points.

I am not saying it will be easy. Most employers prefer Canadians or PR's because then they don't have to go through the hassle of applying for things. Some people have succeeded but maybe after contacting many employers.
