Question regarding Undertakings on IMM5481E Form

Hello,

I'm working on the sponsorship forms in order to sponsor my American spouse.

Hoping to get some feedback on questions 5-7 on IMM5481E regarding undertakings in effect and not yet in effect.

Question 5A, current undertakings, asks for "persons included in box#3 of the Generic Application Form for Canada IMM0008) under section Application Details." As I understand it, this number would then be 3 (If I count myself, the principal applicant, and their dependent)?

Now, onto 5B, previous undertakings. I have never sponsored anyone before, so I believe I only need to write 0 for all the 5B slots, am I right to believe this?



Question 6A and 6B are kind of confusing, as it reads "persons not included in 5. above, if applicable." Does this mean I should only write something if I have additional dependents that have not already been accounted for in question 5? So I wouldn't recount my spouse or their dependent, right?


Number 7 seems self-explanatory, but I just want to clarify that all I do is tally my total and I'm done? Should my total be 4? I find it confusing because I'd be counting myself twice since the form automatically adds 1 for Yourself.

IMM0008, question 3, should only be the applicant and dependents included in the application. The sponsor is not included in that count.

Assuming there is only you, the applicant and his/her dependent:

5Bi) 0
5Bii) 0
5Biii) 0
5Biv) 0
6A) 0
6B) 0
7) 3

If you, the sponsor, have any dependents of your own, they need to be included in 6B as well.
