Hi everyone,
Last year I had applied for the Canadian permanent resident card when I was studying in Vancouver.
After graduation I came back to my home country India and I was following up with the immigration process from here.

The other day I got a letter from CIC that I need to provide a police clearance from each country/state where the residence period has been more than 6 months.
I landed in (Vancouver) Canada on August 2007 and came back to India in August 2011.

Do you know if I have to get a Police Clearance certificate from the Vancouver Police department? if Yes then how can I get Police clearance
from Vancouver Police since I am presently in India.
I have to submit this Police Clearance soon and I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

If you are OUTSIDE OF CANADA :

contact the nearest police force which offers fingerprinting services. The RCMP will accept fingerprint forms from foreign countries that contain the following:

•rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers taken with black ink
•full name, date of birth and sex of the applicant
•the name and address of the police agency
•the signature of the official taking the fingerprints
NOTES :

•Canadian embassies and consulates may not have adequate resources or facilities to provide this service.
•The ability to submit fingerprints electronically to the RCMP is not currently available outside Canada
