Question regarding spouse's work history

First off, let me say how glad I am to have found this forum. It's full of incredibly useful information for what, thus far, has seemed to be a very daunting task.

Now, I've attempted to use the search function to find this information, but I'm afraid I haven't quite found the answer to this specific query.

As most of us know, tax season is coming up in the US and Canada. My spouse, as a US citizen, lives with her parent and has in previous been listed as a dependent for medical reasons that have prevented her from working. This year, she is concerned that if she were to be listed as such again, it would be a detriment to her attempt to emigrate to Canada, in that it would make her appear to be a person who would not be making genuine efforts to become a productive, working citizen once in the country.

She has recently graduated from a post-secondary institution with an associate's degree in medical transcription. She wishes to provide for herself in the time during the application process, but, obviously, the job hunt has not proved fruitful as of yet.

So, if she were to list herself as a dependent on her parent's taxes (for medical reasons), would that negatively impact our chances of her immigrating into Canada successfully? Are there any topics I may have missed that would already provide insight?

Thanks in advance!

This issue will have no impact whatsoever on her ability to immigrate to Canada and she shouldn't worry about it.

Thanks so much for the timely response! I had the same inkling, but worries are worries, and it is always very reassuring to have a third party verify.
