Hi,

I saw in one of the topics here that if working at client place, I need to get a reference letter from my manager at the client place or from the client himself. I have following questions.

1. What if my manager has also relocated back to home country at the time of application. Can I still produce his reference letter with phone number of home country?

2. Getting the reference letter from the client is next to impossible. I have the purchase order and the statement of work which clearly defines the work. Can they be submitted instead? Also the purchase order has the funds allocated to the project printed on it. Would it be fair to submit it?

3. I interact with many people at my client place. If I manage to get the ref letter from one of them, will that help?

Thank you

(1) Your reference letter needs have to have Canadian address and Canadian contact address of your supervisor. Giving contact details of supervisor based in home country is not acceptable.

(2) If the employer reference letter is strong enough, you need not submit Client Reference letter. If need be, CIC will ask for a client reference letter at a later date. If I understand correctly purchase order / SOW is 'work to be done' and it does not evidence or prove work 'already done'. It will not hold any ground as CEC is based on past work exp and not projection.

(3) 'Many people' ? You will have to elaborate on who these people are ? The letter must be from your supervisor. Letters from colleagues or sub-ordinates will not help.

As I said, my supervisor who was in Canada (With me) is now in India. In that case he cannot have a Canadian address and contact number.

The purchase order and SOW (statement of work) was issued for the whole year, which includes the period I stayed in Canada. It is for the year starting Jan 2013 to Dec 2013. Can this be submitted?

The main project is divided into many pieces and each of them is handled by different people. If I manage to get a reference letter from one of them, would that be enough

No letter issued for a future date work (Jan to Dec 2013) can be used as an evidence for your Canadian exp. under CEC. Strict NO NO.
No matter which project. If one of your Supervisors can issue a letter in the format required by CIC covering the full period that you are claiming as experience, it is good enough.
