Question Regarding Police Cer on an IEC Visa

Hi there,

I'm currently applying from the UK for a 24 month IEC visa in Canada. I've received my invitation to reply and all of my documents are prepared and uploaded except for my Police Certificate, which was requested from Acro on Thursday 17th Jan. Typically, given the 10 working days and time for shipping, I don't except my certificate to arrive until Monday 4th Feb; which is the exact day of my application deadline. I'm quite eager to get the ball rolling and understand the Canadian IEC website allows you to send your application in with simply proof/receipt of the police certificate and the full document will be later requested. My question is, when the document is requested -- what given deadline is typical? For example, I don't want to send my application today and find I've shot myself in the foot if they request the police certificate even earlier than what they would have done if I'd waited.

Thanks

Obviously do not wait until Feb 4th in case of any system issues, just follow the guidelines and upload copy of the proof/receipt and add in a letter of explanation stating certificate to follow. Unless it has changed they quote overall processing time of IEC applications as 8 weeks so doubtful you will get a request on say Feb 5th, although in the past applications have been processed way less than 8 weeks if complete..

If it had been me I would have paid for the express ACRO option in 2 days even though the cost is a bit extreme it just saves any hassle in the long run as the application would have been all done but it is what it is now. At least you dont have the hassle of a NZ certificate which takes 20 days and there is no express option but at least those are free..
