Well after a long wait my Danish husband will soon be arriving in Canada. We are currently living in Denmark. I will be leaving for Canada first with our son (Canadian citizen) and my husband will be joining us about 6 weeks later. Now that the the big event is finally happening I just wanted some confirmation of his landing procedure. He visa exempt and therefore did not have to send his passport to a visa office. So he is just bringing his confirmation of permanent residency and passport. He is not bringing any funds or major items ( we travel light!!)
Does this sound right to anyone who has had this experience? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hey!

Tillykke on the visa...

The landing part is really easy. He needs his COPR and passport, and that's about it. He also needs to have his Canadian address with him, as the officer will ask him where he wants the PR card sent.
On arrival in Canada, he can tell the immigration officer that he wants to land as a PR. Most likely he will be sent to another office, where they will look through his paper, confirm his identity, have him sign the COPR, and that's about it. It's recommended to travel with the marriage certificate, but I have not seen many people being asked for it.
It doesn't sound like it, but if he plans on bringing anything to Canada ( even a bit later) he should get a B4 filled out, and stamped the day he lands - it will allow him to import whatever is on the list without paying taxes.

Good luck!
Sweden :)
