I recently became a Canadian citizen and would be applying for my canadian passport soon. I have couple questions.
1. The form requires certificate number. Where do I find citizenship certificate number on the document?
2. I recently got married and have assumed my husband's last name. I will get drivers license and health services card with my new last name soon. I will also eventually send an application to CIC to request an updated citizenship certificate. However, I have already booked a trip with my new name and would like my passport to have my new name. But, the passport requires the name to match the one on the citizenship certificate, which shows my maiden name and it takes much longer for the certificate name change to be processed. Should I wait to update my certificate first and then apply for a passport? Or does it not matter?
