Hello

I want to invite my mother from India to meet my newborn child in the month of June for 2 weeks. I am currently not working so will be showing my husband's bank statement as proof of our funds along with his payslips and employment letter. I want to know how to show his bank statement for online application i.e. should I just download his bank statement for last 3 months online as a pdf and upload it or do we have to get it stamped from the bank (CIBC) here in canada? Do they stamp and give ? Is that a practice here ? Will the online pdf be enough ? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

Online PDF will suffice.

Do make sure you don't mention that your mom is visiting to take care of you or your baby

Hello Bryanna,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I am planning to invite her to bless my baby as we will have a naming ceremony here and would want someone elder from our family to be there for that. We have no other family here. I am aware of not writing words that will mean I am calling her to take care of my baby. I am currently at home and hence would not need her for that. She also has a active business, receives pension and my father and brother in india and hence she has to go back. I will also purchase insurance for her so that there would be no burden on the resources here.

Fantastic.

IMO, she has a good case.... she must submit all evidence of her ties/reasons to return to India + evidence of the naming ceremony and why a family member must attend, etc

Fingers crossed she gets her TRV soon :)

WOW your words make me feel more positive...Thank you :). I will update you once I receive the results.

We will show her Tax returns for last 2 years, her bank statement, her pension certificate and also business registration document and balance sheet as proof of it being active and which justifies her income.

We have 3 pets who are quite dependent on her and also she is quite attached to them, should I mention this as well since it is very true but do not know how to prove it?

How can I show proof that a family member must attend the naming ceremony ? Other than the fact that this is the tradition in India and also she would be representing all elders in the family since no one else can come. Even my husband's parents cannot and this her first grandchild. I plan to explain all this is in the invitation letter.

You're welcome :)

Also, do include any proofs that her business is actively trading. For example, 2-3 purchase orders + list of customers and their contact information + business/company profile + rent agreement for office space + evidence if she hires employees.

For the pension: Pension statement + proof she must return to renew it on an annual basis

You can mention it although her pets would be cared for by your dad and your brother when your mom visits. It might seem odd but, yes, reasons like been cited in TRV applications.

Any bookings for the venue/catering/invites to friends, hiring a temple priest for the event (receipt?), something along these lines? Plus, a print of some web page which explains the ceremonies, need for a family elder, etc

May I know why it isn't good to mention about child care? And what would be good reason of visit to mention if my mother visits for up to 6 months. She will definitely help with my kid, and maybe my wife can work during that time. The other reason is she missed us, and the grandkid especially, cause we haven't seen each other for 2 years (COVID).

That would be admitting to working illegally.
