Question please help

Hi I'm writing this for a friend that I have meet and am starting to get to know, from what iv been told they came to Canada 2 1/2 years ago and have been here since, and now I think there visa or work permit is about to expire in 6 months. Is there anything this person can do to either extened the visa or work permit to stay in Canada? They are from Mexico and work as a cleaner, they have had the job for a steady year now and would like to remain here any help would be great.

The employer must apply for a new labour market opinion and they can apply to extend their work permit. If the employer is not interested in keeping them, they need to find another employer who will apply for a labour market opinion for them so they can apply for a new work permit. They could also request to change their status to visitor but as a visitor, they can not work.
