Hello,

My nephew is currently studying in Canada ( 1st year) and his father passed away few months back in India. My nephew could not go back to attend father's funeral due to his final exams, and now he likes to Invite his mother to visit him to Canada for short visit as he is the only child. His mother was housewife before but currently looking after his father's business and she is financially stable. My nephew currently stays with me in my house but we are not taking any rent from him, he just stays as family member with us.

Can someone please advise and help me finding answers of couple of questions -

1. Do my nephew need to provide any rent agreement/lease copy as one of his document for his mother's visitor visa application ? if yes, do I need to provide any supporting document like electricity bill etc ?
2. What could be good reasons to invite his mother for a short visit to Canada, any suggestions ?

Thank you for support and help

Regards,

Why don't you invite your sister or sister-in-law for a visit to Canada directly? Provide a daily itinerary for her during her visit such as visit in Banff National Park.

Hi Steaky,

Thanks for your message. I did apply for my sister and brother-in-law visitor visa back in 2015, but it was rejected with the reason " Purpose of travel not consistent", So I am not fully confident as I am being brother as invitee would be good option compared to my nephew who is Son.

Can you please also advise if rental/lease agreement copy is necessary along with invitation letter written by my nephew as invitee ?

Thank you.

No need for a lease agreement. The approval of her TRV will be primarily made based on her savings and ties to India like property, business, etc. The fact that he is an only child and his mother was recently widowed plays she has other close family in Canada like her sister it will likely be quite difficult to get approval. How long does she want to visit? How much liquid cash can she show as savings? Does she live with and care for her in-laws? How old is she (nearing retirement?) You will need to show why her presence is needed India the overcome strong ties to Canada.

Hi Canuck78,

Thank you for your information.

My nephew's mother is my real sister, I being brother did attempt for her and my brother-in-law's visit visa back in 2015 but it was rejected and this is the reason this time, My nephew is going to be invitee for her. Ever since my nephew's father passed away, his mother is operating his father's business of investment / financial services, the business has huge client portfolio, where people invested their money. She is looking for a visit for in the month of December ( Just 1 month), when my nephew will have Christmas break off from studies. She has 2 residential house, 1 shop to her name in India and about $ 30,000 to $ 40,000 liquid cash in bank. All her assets and business are under her name in India. She does not have in-laws as they passed away long time back. She is currently 45 year age. - Is there any other better way to improve chances of approval ??

Back 2017, my father suddenly passed away. I was a student and couldn't travel for funeral. After 4 months I applied for my mother's visa mentioned that she is sad and need some change after loosing her husband. If she spends some time with me it would be great for both of us. Though my finances ware not strong that time but she got visa for 5 years.
