Hello Everyone!

I just want to check few things before I ask other questions:

1) My sponsor (my wife) and my son are living with me now in Dubai and I have just got their residence visa done. They both are Canadian citizen and my wife is going to sponsor me. I would like to know that what should I show on the sponsorship form that she is living with me outside Canada or she is residing in Canada?

2) As she staying with me, so she is unemployed. So how can she show her income? If I am supporting her financially, then what document do I have to provide to prove that my wife and my son are financially supported by me?

3) If we mention that my wife is residing outside Canada, then what proof should we have to show regarding our plans to move to Canada? like is there any specific plans do we need to mention? Or what documents normally needs to be attached as a proof that we will reside in Canada.

Just for the info, my wife's mother and brother lives in Canada.

Please help! we are at our final stage to complete the application.

Thanks

If she is outside of Canada for 6 months or more, and you plan to move to Canada after approval, then tell CIC she is residing in Dubai.

She can explain how she plans to support you and the child. I do not believe there is a mandatory income level, so just have her explain how she expects you to support your life in Canada.

Describe the plans on a separate sheet of paper. The proof isn't necessarily required, but a plan is.

She came to Dubai after giving birth in June 2016 which is around 4months now and I am planning to apply end of Oct 2016 then I would say it will be 5months. So we still needs to state that she is residing in Dubai not in Canada?

We are planning to provide my proof of income but would that help? She just needs to state that she is going to work once she is in Canada to support me and my son? or do I have to provide some proof of saving or anything?

I understand this. Thanks for your response!

Does she plan to remain there past November?

Showing both is a good idea.

Yes she has a plan to remain there until Feb as we are planning to go to Canada for a visit in Feb 2017.

You mean my proof of income and savings? I would not have much saving which is more stressful? Does she needs to provide a proof that she will be working once we arrive there?

Then she is "residing" there.

If you don't have a large amount of savings, then you can omit them. She will need to suggest a plan. eg: I am a professional xx that is in demand, I expect to find work in my field within yy days of returning to Canada. We have zz savings available to sustain us until that time.

She hasn't finished her graduation in Nursing but I am an Aerospace Engineer. So she is will be considered as Student coz she is studying in the college. So in that she can still write the same thing? Or I can suggest that I can find a work easily as I am an Aerospace graduate and it is one of the demanding field in Canada. However regarding savings, My father has a property back in Pakistan and I have got the official letter (affidavit) that he has this property for $X,000 and he can use this to support my living and accommodation expense if required? do you think will this work?

Thanks for your patience :)

No problem -- it's not a bother.

No, she would be "residing" in UAE.

There is a flaw with this plan. You cannot work in Canada while waiting for PR. If you want to work in Canada, you would either have to apply inland, or use one of the Express Entry / Economic streams instead of family sponsorship.

If you wish to be sponsored, and you want to work, then you need to apply inland, and apply for an OWP.

Ok now I m confused! If i am applying for Outland Sponsorship then I have to wait until 12-13months for my landing which will leads to my PR in not time (like in a months time). Am I correct on this? So once I have my PR then I can work there? How long does it take to get the PR once you have done a landing in Canada?

Being granted your PR is landing. The day they give you the confirmation paperwork (COPR) you have "landed". You can apply for a Social Insurance Number and work once you have that. It will take 12-13 months for you to get that, and a few minutes to get a SIN. During that time (waiting for PR), you cannot work in Canada without a work permit.

yes thats understandable but as per the application it says that how my sponsor will support me .. is it asking during my wait until PR or is it asking after PR is done?

From the date you arrive in Canada, how will you and your sponsor support your family? Keeping in mind that, until you have a PR, you cannot work. In your original plan, you and your wife had planned to return to Canada in a few months. Is that correct? With that in mind, if you did come to Canada during that time, you cannot work until you have a PR or a work permit.

Oh yes! I understand what you are getting confused on. I have a plan to visit for a month in Canada in Feb 2017 and I will resume my work in Dubai after my visit. But I was asking about after getting the PR/ Landing

So yeah! So my question was.. can I state my plan that I will be able to find work in xx days and will be able to support my family. And I have my father's affidavit as a supporting document that in case if I need financial support, I can get it from my father. On top, we will be living in my spouse's mother house for few months.

Do you think this will be sufficient? or we definitely need to show some hard cash savings? My wife has some gold on her but how can we show the value of that gold if required?

I did edit my post to include a little more detail.

You'd need to explain your plan, like living with your in-laws until you find work to support your family.

It's hard to say if it will be enough. That would be a judgement call the CIC Officer would have to make. That said, you aren't the first that has done this. And there is no low-income cutoff for Spousal applications.
