Hi everyone.

I am in Canada on a work permit and I submitted my PR application in April, 2014. I am married to a Canadian citizen and she is my sponsor. We filled out the information regarding her financial status but the info was not current as she had not received her assessment at the time of application.

1.) Do we need to update CIC with this information?

2.) She owns her own business so her personal income does not meet the requirement of 23,647.00 as stipulated on the CIC website describing form IMM5482. Does this mean she does not make enough to sponsor me? Her company makes far more than this.

Thank you.

1. no - the information in the application needs to be as current as possible when it's submitted. it is not necessary to continually update cic about financial status. if cic requires more information, they will ask for it.

2. there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship, so CIC does not care how much money a sponsor makes, or at all. all they care about is whether they have used welfare of filed bankruptcy in the past 12 months. this is the purpose of the option c form being a required document.
