Hey there guys

im sure this question was probably answered here in the forum .. ive tried to search but couldnt find the particular answer i was looking for...

there is a question on the application which asks about the intent to return to Canada.

being that im a canadian living and working outside canada in pakistan ... i have not severed ties though i dont have a current bank account in canada but still have my old red n white health card. i did come back for a 2 week vacation last year but that was only for house hunting.

the only proof i can give of intent is a letter from my parents stating that they know of my marriage and that i will be living with them till we find a place to stay and till i get work.

now there this other thing which is that my family is in canada but my dad is working out of the country .. so who should the letter be from ? my mom or dad ?

what i wanted to know was who should this letter be addressed to the embassy or me ?

or should it just be " to whom it may concern "

and finally should anything else be written in the email ?

thanks guys

If your father is only temporarily working out of Canada, then you can have the letter be from both your mum and dad. If you're worried at they may not like that your dad is also out of country then have the letter be written from your mum.
I would address it as, To whom it may concern. Then your mother can explain the living arrangement.
Also, you mentioned you returned back to Canada to house hunt? This is good. Show proof of this. The area you were looking to live in, etc.

Your old health card won't be of much help, so I wouldn't bother showing proof of that.

thanks for the info ... my dad isnt working temporaryly out of the country ... he has been working out of canada for a long time no .. so i guess the letter would have to be from my mom ... ok got that ....
now what proof can i give that i returned to canada for house hunting ? all i have is tickets and maybe just maybe if i can find it in my email hotel confirmations but that would be in my dads name .. nothing in mine .. so i guess all i have is plane tickets .. would that help out ?

If you were house hunting then you would have been working with a real estate agent. Do you have a signed contract with that agent? Or any emails you exchanged about the listing you were going to see or appointment dates to see houses?

If everything is in your dad's name then I don't think it will be of much help. Showing property ownership is helpful if you are the sole owner or joint owner.

well ill be living with my family till i get a place to stay plus they wouldnt mind me staying with them for as long as i like .. even with my wife n kids .. so im sure a letter like that will help .. hence getting a letter from my parents for that matter...

If you have a house already then why would you be living with your family. You could get a contract signed for rent at this new house from your parents. When you were looking for house did you not personally communicate with the agent. You could use those emails.

i think you got a bit confused ... my parents got a house .. not me ... so its in my dads name ... me n my dad came to canada a year back to look for homes ... i just have a few email in regards with listings n stuff other then that nothing is in my name ... so my parents are more then happy to have me n my family live with them till we can get a place ... so thats why im getting a letter from them.

The letter will be helpful - but ideally you need more evidence than that. Is there anything else you can provide other than the letter from your parents confirming you will be living with them?
