Question on deadline for arriving in Canada

Hi everyone,

I have a very simple question I hope someone can answer!

How long do you have following receiving your permanent residence visa (skilled workers) to land in Canada? I know there are deadlines on moving there, but need to know how long you have. I would imagine they have to give you sufficient time to sell up etc etc?? My application is with the London office.

Hi,

The CIC will give you a visa with date of validity stamped in your passport. You should land in within that period. They've given me 8 months.

I applied through the London office but several years ago, they gave me a year.

1 year from the date of the medical, or to the expiry of the passport, whichever comes first.
