Question on addresses lived in/out of Canada: Actually living in Canada as a temp. resident, vs having American address for mail only

I lived in Canada with my wife when we first got married while I was waiting for my PR application to be processed, from May 1 through Dec 25. I had an American address that I used purely as an address-of-record, and don't think I stayed there once. Should this American address be listed, even if I never stayed there? Or can I list my Canadian address as where I lived as a temporary resident during that time?

Currently I have a supporting document I'm going to upload to my online application explaining this, but at this point I'm not sure if I'm making things way more complicated.

You’re making it complicated.

Your address/residence is where you physically were. And you had temporary status in Canada, it shouldn’t be an issue to state your address in Canada.

Awesome, thanks for the confirmation on that, feel a lot better knowing I can just do that.
