Question of TRV for Parents

Hello Experts,

Recently i have applied for TRV for my Parents, The visa was approved and issued for only 2 years instead of 10 years for multiple entries.Can i contact IRCC for the reason. Please advise. Thanks,

Do your parents' passports expire in 2 years?

TRVs are not issued past the passport's expiry date.

Also, it is at the officer's discretion to issue how long a TRV they choose. If this is their first TRV, then maybe the officer just issued a short one on a "test run". If they respect this current visa, they'll likely get the maximum on the next application. You can go ahead by ordering the TRV application case notes.

TRVs are not issued for 10 years, nor until passport expiry (in some cases). The validity of your parents' TRVs depends on the assessment made by the visa officer.

It would depend on factors such as your own immigration status + the strength of the ties that your parents were able to demonstrate to their home country + whether or not the visa officer believes they need to revisit in the future, and if yes then would the visits be for similar purposes
