So it seems my boyfriend and I will end up getting married in Argentina after all.

I've been googling it for a while and it seems if you are married outside of Canada it is up to you to then do all the paperwork to make it legal in Canada, but, how? when? where do we go? what paperwork do I need to submit? I can't seem to find the answers to all my questions! Help!

Thank you.

If Marriage happens outside Canada, you CAN'T register your marriage in Canada. But if the marriage is legal in the country where the marriage happened, then its legal in Canada and it's as good as the marriage happened in Canada.
Just make sure to translate the marriage certificate if it's in a different language other than English or French.

Foreign Affairs Canada:
" Marriages that are legally performed abroad are usually valid in Canada. Inquiries regarding the validity of a foreign marriage should be directed to the Vital Statistics Office of the province or territory where the couple will live".
