Question for Live in caregivers

Hello guys, I have a question, I submitted my application last december 2010, my current WP expires on September 2011 but my employer enclosed a letter in my application stating that I will continue working for her until I get my OWP. But now, she is on maternity leave and would not need my service in like 3-4 months from now. although she is kind enough to let me stay. The question is, can I stay unemployed while waiting for my OWP?

Talk to your employer to see if she could keep you until you get your open permit
