I just submitted my profile this month and am still waiting for an ITA – if it ever comes. I realize that some documents may take a while to put together, and therefore I am trying to get started on some of those now. The CIC automatic letter also encourages doing this right away:
'If we invite you to apply, you will have 60 days to fill out and submit your application. Some documents (for example, police certificates) may be hard to get. You should start trying to get these documents right away, so that you can apply within the 60 days.'
One question I have is on the Police Certificate. For those of you who have received ITA and have submitted the PR application, I would appreciate it if you could let me know: Does CIC require Police Certificates for all countries/territories you have lived in (for more than 6 months) over 18 years old? Or, are those only for the countries/territories you have lived in during the past 10 years after you turned 18 years old?
Depending on the answer I will need to get either 4 or 3 police certificates.
