Question - Am I still a Canadian Citizen ?

I have family that live in BC Canada, My mom was born in canada. I was born in the usa.
When I lived with my mom in canada as a teenager she got me a "certificate of canadian citizenship" back in 1995 .
I returned to live in the usa and have been here ever since. I have visited a few times and never had a
problem crossing the border when I showed my citizenship card, my last visit was in 2007. Im planning to
go back to canada with my daughter , Im getting her a passport.

My question is ... Dose this card expire ? Do I have to renew my Citizenship?
(My card has no expire date,it has my picture, date of birtht, sex, height, and eye color along with my full name and a 7 digit number)

My mom tells me its permenent but I want to be sure.
I would simply get a passport before I go but, I have a felony charge on my record in the usa and I know if I show that
at the border its going to be a pain getting across. I want to find a way to check my citizenship status.

You remain a Canadian citizen. It doesn't have to be renewed. Note that you won't be able to travel by air without a passport.

If I have full legal custody of my daughter , do I still need a note from her mother
saying its ok for her to cross into Canada?

No, the custody document though, that gives you physical custody and the ability to remove her from her country/state of origin.
